Fundamental context.
Quantitative discipline. Human judgment.
01 / From information to interpretation
A digest is the interface. The work happens in how each development is classified, weighted and interpreted for your contract.
Follow origin-country reporting on weather, crops, policy, demand and logistics, without waiting for an English rewrite.
Translate, classify and score the event for its benchmark. Group related reporting so repetition has less influence.
Assess economic topics with historical news and contract-price research. Keep news pressure and the separate price-informed view distinct.
Spot a catalyst, check the source and assess what may already be priced in. Bring the evidence into your own decision process.
02 / Topic research & backtesting
Topics earn attention through research, not headline volume alone.
Each desk starts with economic drivers: supply, demand, policy and the conditions that connect them. Historical news and contract prices help assess those topics using information coefficient (IC)—a measure of statistical association with price changes.
For sugar, coffee and cocoa, the historical screen helps retain or emphasize price-relevant topics. Selection touched the evaluation window: this is a price-validated topic taxonomy, not an independent out-of-sample performance record or a backtested strategy with proven returns. It does not establish next-day return forecasts.
Corn and soybean topics have been mapped against historical news with exploratory price associations. These do not yet establish predictive significance or validated trading signals. All five desks keep news pressure distinct from any separate price signal.
The research boundary matters. Selection used the evaluation window. Topic validation is not proof of trading returns.
1.5M+ indexed articles across the service. Coverage scale is not a measure of predictive accuracy.
03 / The fundamental part
The selected contract, product and producing region shape the interpretation.
What the desk watches
An import opening can ease domestic Indian prices while adding demand for globally traded raw sugar. The benchmark changes the interpretation.
Illustrative interpretation, not a trade instruction.04 / Read the evidence, not just the number
A clear view of the scores, the safeguards and their limits.
Estimated price-impact magnitude for the selected contract and retained topic; not confidence or probability.
Signed pressure in [-1, +1]. Positive means upward price pressure; negative means downward price pressure.
A separate price-informed lens based on selected news topics and continuous-front-month daily closes. It is not a return forecast, trade instruction, or official ICE settlement.
The daily news value is the relevance-weighted mean intensity after producer-origin weighting. The expert-defined origin weights are desk-tuning seeds, not statistically fitted parameters. News sentiment and the separate price signal are never blended into a single claim.
URL-based identity helps keep a headline, summary and original source together when upstream IDs are reused. Source links let the desk inspect the evidence.
Translation checks and repair help catch untranslated or mixed-language headlines. Targeted relevance filters reduce cosmetics and other ingredient-word noise. Neither check is exhaustive.
Original publication dates and reporting periods are retained. Freshness checks target recycled figures while allowing current reports to make historical comparisons.
Summaries keep prices, output, inventories, demand and logistics distinct, with their product, place, units and period. Source-grounding checks target unsupported causal and producer-specific additions.
Checks reduce the influence of contradictory price recaps while retaining genuine forward-looking fundamentals. Overview price wording uses the last completed daily close, separately from news pressure.
Editorial overviews bring themes and named sources together. Retries and fallback checks reduce mechanical joins and incomplete text. Automated safeguards still need the reader’s judgment.
These are targeted safeguards, not a guarantee of error-free output. Freshness parsing is heuristic; translation repair is best effort; grouping is not perfect. Current daily figures are provisional. Genuine fundamental pressure can differ from the price tape.
New content appears when contracted feeds return items that pass publication checks. This is an information-edge workflow, not a sub-second trading feed or a latency guarantee.
Prior-day finalisation: Sugar 06:00, Cocoa 06:15, Coffee 06:30 UTC. The current day continues to update.
Live authenticated dashboard for all five commodities. Existing sugar, coffee and cocoa delivery also supports CSV/JSON over SFTP. Corn and soybeans are frontend-only.
An external API or MCP server can be built on request; neither is a productized external endpoint today.
Price context uses continuous front-month daily closes, not official ICE settlement. The Overview uses the last completed session; missing or stale price data must be distinguished from a fresh observation.
Contracted APIs cover a universe of more than 300,000 data sources. That is not the number represented in every commodity view. News Coverage shows the published sources and languages.
